If you are an RCTCBC employee and have a personal RCTCBC.gov.uk email address, you can sign in automatically using single sign-on. You can do this by clicking on the "Login" at the top right of the homepage. This will bring up the login box, where you will need to select the top option box: 'If you have a personal RCT Council email address and Council issued laptop'. You will then be automatically logged in, as long as you are using your Council issued laptop and are connected to the VPN.
If you are not an RCTCBC employee or do not have a Council email address, you can request a password reset using your registered email address - You can do this by clicking on the "Login" at the top right of the homepage. This will bring up the login box, please select the "Forgotten your username or password?" option. You will need the email we have registered with the RCT Source account to get a link sent to you to reset your password. This will be your personal email that you have provided the Council/HR to use.
If you are unable to use the password reset function, please contact 0345 074 4114, this is the Learning Pool helpdesk and they will be able to assist. This is a 24/7 service.
If you are a member of staff paid through Rhondda Cynon Taf payroll, you will have an account automatically set up for you. This usually takes about a week, but it can take upto a fortnight to register.
If you are external, working for us on behalf of a partner organisation, or agency staff, you will need a profile created by the RCT Source team. You or your manager will need to download a new user form HERE, please complete this and send to thesource@rctcbc.gov.uk.
On both occasions, when the RCT Source learning account is set-up, you will receive a welcome email with your login details.
If you work for, or on behalf of Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council (excluding school teaching staff), you can find all your Mandatory Learning under the "Mandatory Learning" button, located on the home page when you log into RCT Source.
Alternatively, you can click the "My Learning" tab located towards the top right hand side of the screen. This will take you to your personal learning dashboard, here you can track all your progress.
If you work in a Rhondda Cynon Taf Council school or with a different employer, you can either talk to your Head Teacher or Manager to find out what learning you need to complete.
You can access all up-to-date Rhondda Cynon Taf HR policies guides and forms on RCT Source. When you are logged in, these are located under the "Policies, Guidelines and Forms" button on the homepage.
When not logged in, they are found under the "A-Z Policies" and "Guidelines and Forms" button on the homepage.
These are all downloadable and accessible 24/7.
You can find other policies on the Councils intranet, INFORM.
If your progress isn't showing as it should be, you can go back into the module itself and check the course progress bar. You can locate the bar at the top of the learning and a breakdown of units on the right hand side. If a piece of the bar is missing or showing as white, the learning will not mark as complete, which is preventing you from moving on within the learning or from showing the course as completed.
Sometimes the system may need additional time to update, however if you are still showing as incomplete following a 24 hour period, please contact the support desk at Learning Pool for help on 0345 074 4114.
Select the course you want to request an extension for, here you will find a link stating "Request an Extension" at the top of the page, you will need to be logged in to be able to view this. Click this option and complete the required information. Your manager will then be notified of your learning extension request by email and they will be able to respond to advise if you are allowed and extension or not, they will need to be logged in to accept or deny this. Following your manager reviewing your request, you will receive and email which links back to the RCT Source advising you of the decision. If you are allowed an extension, a new deadline will be set.
A note for managers: you will receive a link to review the learning extension request via email. The link will take you to the RCT Source extension request page, where you will be able to view the details, you will need to be logged in to do this. Please log into the site first, then return to the email you received to use the link. Managers have discretion around extending learning deadlines but please be mindful that mandatory learning does need to be completed in a timely manner for reasons such as policy, legislation and other statutory requirements.
