• Aims and Objectives

    This course has been designed for all carers, support workers and registered nurses who need to update their awareness of mobility and daily living skills for a service user with dual sensory impairments.

     

    Learning Objectives

    Skills and knowledge highlighted in this training include:

    • Defining sensory impairment

    • 5 Senses

    • Sight and vision impairment

    • Support for an individual

    • Hearing impairment

    • Support for an individual

    • Deaf blindness

    • Other sensory impairments

    • Person centred care planning

     

    Teaching Methods

    This course will be delivered by a variety of teaching methods including: presentations; small group discussion; whole group discussion; individual work; case studies.
