    • Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities

      By the end of the training, participants should be able to:

      1. Understand the spectrum of Learning Disabilities:  

      •   Identify the characteristics of different types of learning disabilities, with a focus on PMLD.
      •   Understand the impact of profound and multiple learning disabilities on individuals' lives.

       

      2. Identify the Needs of Individuals with PMLD:  

      •  Recognise the sensory, physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of individuals with PMLD.
      •  Recognise the challenges and opportunities associated with supporting individuals with PMLD.
      •  Understand the need to adapt communication strategies based on the individual’s abilities.
      •  

      3. Apply Professionalism and Respect in their work:  

      •   Demonstrate attitudes that respect the dignity and autonomy of individuals with PMLD.
      •   Understand the importance of maintaining person-centred approaches while ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals.
