    AIMS:

    Following completion of this course practitioners will:

    • Have an understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), long-term trauma and their impact on CYP
    • Explore statistics and data on ACEs, prevalence and impact
    • Introduce information on ACE Hub Wales and the TRACE Toolkit
    • Understand how trauma and attachment affect CYP
    • Understand how CYP may respond and behave due to early-life experiences
    • Develop enhanced skills and strategies to support CYPs impacted by trauma
    • Develop relaxation skills and mindfulness
    • Explore guided imagery
    • Explore managing flashbacks
    • Explore ideas for keeping well
    • Develop creative activities for ongoing coping
    • Considering relationships, assertiveness and boundaries
    • Explore how our thoughts affect us
    • Explore Ideas for self-esteem and ongoing self-care


    OBJECTIVES:

    A training course for all who work with children, families and young people to provide an understanding of trauma-informed practice.  It will support the development of a trauma informed approach and consider how to implement this into daily practice’
