  (WITS)

  The Council are partners with the Wales Interpretation and Translation Service (WITS). They are the preferred supplier of language services for the Council (except Welsh language, which is dealt with internally).

  WITS offer professional face-to-face interpreters and translators for public sector bodies.

  WITS E-Learning

  WITS have produced several free online e-learning modules designed to give you an understanding when working with WITS and interpreters and translators.

  There are several modules available, but it’s recommended that you complete:

  To contact WITS, please telephone: 02920 537555 or email: wits@cardiff.gov.uk. You can also visit the WITS website.

  The WITS office is staffed from 07.00 - 22.00, 365 days of the year. If you call between the hours of 22.00 - 07.00. Your call will automatically be transferred to the WITS out of hours service. (Please note, you should only use this out of hours service if you require the immediate attendance of an interpreter before 07.00. that day).

  If you are looking to secure a booking within 48 hours you are strongly advised to contact WITS by telephone, rather than email, as it may not be picked up in time due to the volume of emails received by WITS.
