Aims & Objectives
AIMS:
Participants will:
- Understand the different challenges of sexuality or gender identity
- Explore equality of opportunity and promote anti-discriminatory practice
- Reflect on prejudice surrounding sexuality and gender which can affect young people in care
- Plan how to support young people to develop skills to cope with discrimination or prejudice
OBJECTIVES:
Following this course you will:
- Feel more confident to discuss sexuality
- Have the tools you need to promote social inclusion and become an advocate for your child in care
- Know how to value and celebrate individuality, difference and diversity
- Be able to support young people in your care to deal with discrimination, enhance their self-worth and make a positive contribution to society
