• You are our last line of defence!

    Did you know…

ICT and Digital Services prevent around 200,000 cyber-crime attempts towards the Council each month, but you are a vital cog in our cyber security measures and we need your help now more than ever…

In today’s digital environment, cyber security is increasingly important for everyone—not just ICT. For Local Authorities in the UK, the responsibility is even greater. Councils handle large volumes of sensitive data and deliver essential services, making them attractive targets for cybercriminals.

Even where there are layers of technical measures in place to protect our systems and data, it can be undone by simple mistakes, like clicking a suspicious link. That’s why it is so important for staff to feel confident and aware when it comes to cyber security.

Fundamentally, cyber security training equips staff with the knowledge and skills needed to actively support the protection of Council services, data, and ultimately the communities they serve.

This short mandatory Cyber Training is certified by the UK Government’s National Cyber Security Centre and will give you a better understanding of what cyber security and cyber threats are, how they align with data protection and provide you with the knowledge to act appropriately if you come across something suspicious.
