• Aims & Objectives

    By the end of the course you will be able to:

    • Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider including the contents of a first aid kit.
    • Be able to assess an emergency situation and prioritise what action to take.
    • Be able to help an infant or child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally.
    • Be able to help an infant or child who is unresponsive and breathing normally.
    • Be able to help an infant or child who is choking.
    • Be able to help an infant or child who is having a seizure.
    • Be able to help an infant or child who is bleeding.
    • Be able to help an infant or child who is suffering from hypovolaemic shock.
