      • Blackpool Council Strengthening Research to Address Health Inequalities

        NIHR Health Determinants Research Collaboration Blackpool 

        Blackpool Researching Together are funding and co-delivering a health inequalities research capacity and capability programme with NHS Research and Development Northwest and Lancaster University.

        The programme helps support voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise public health, social care and other local authority professionals to develop their capacity and capability to use and deliver health inequalities research within their roles, with and for local communities.

        They offer a range of training sessions designed to support individuals, professionals, and organisation in developing their understanding of co-production, childcare, and climate training.

        • HDRC Coventry Training

          HDRC Coventry coordinates a monthly series of online talks and webinars on a range of research topics. They talk about the building blocks of a healthy Coventry, the different types of research methods, how to involve the public in research, and real-life examples of research that has been applied and has had an impact on people's lives.

          • HDRC Somerset


            Their aim is to support work that will help to reduce the unfair differences in health and life expectancy that exist in the county.

            They will do this by building the Council’s capacity to do research with communities and learn new ways to reduce inequalities together.

            • HDRC Islington

              The HRDC in Islington is known as evidence Islington.

              The NIHR funds, enables, and delivers world-leading health and social care research that improves people's health and wellbeing and promotes economic growth.

              The NIHR has given £150 million to 30 HDRCs across the UK to help local councils to embed a culture of evidence-based decision making. This funding will help local councils use and do public health research to tackle health issues and inequalities. Islington is one of four HDRCs in London.
