  • Aims & Objectives

NVR - Non Violent Resistance is a therapeutic parenting course for those caring for children displaying violent or risk-taking behaviours. NVR is a unilateral action approach to managing violence, which means that it can be effective in achieving change even with young people who are unwilling to engage. NVR is a systemic approach targeted at parental change in order to rebuild relationships.

Participants will learn the approach, method and techniques of NVR over the course of three days training in order to support parents/carers to implement NVR with their children.

It is expected that following this training, participants will feel confident in using these approaches in their practice with families.

*When signing up for NVR training you are also committing to ongoing NVR consultation/supervision sessions. These sessions are considered an essential part of the NVR training process. You must attend at least one date, but multiple dates are encouraged. Dates of follow up sessions; 3rd November 2026, 1st December 2026, 5th January 2027, 2nd February 2027, 2nd March 2027, 6th April 2027. Supervision sessions will be from 10:00 -11.30.
