    Non Violent Resistance – NVR

    Therapeutic Parenting to Manage Child to Parent Violence and Risk-taking behaviours.

    This is a course for professionals in applying the principles of Non Violent Resistance and Supporting parents and carers to adopt this approach in managing relationships with the children and young people in their care.

    The Course will cover:

    •         Escalation and De-Escalation

    •         Parental Presence

    •         Parental Vigilant Care

    •         Sit ins

    •         Supporters

    •         Reconciliation Gestures

    •         Prioritising Problem Behaviour

    •         Ways of delivering NVR

    •         Applications of NVR

    This is an experiential course, participants are asked to bring their own experiences, both personally and professionally in order to make the most out of the learning experience.

     

    Learning Objectives:

    By the end of the course, you will:

    •         Have a comprehensive overview of the principles, steps and applications of NVR.

    •         Have explored your own experiences of escalation.

    •         Have applied NVR principles and thinking to cases you have undertaken professionally.

    •         Have had the opportunity to reflect on active cases using an ongoing consultation model.

    •         Have heard first hand about the impact of NVR on parenting and relationship repair.
