• "What is leadership? A simple definition is that leadership is the art of motivating a group of people to act towards achieving a common goal".  Leaders can be anyone within the organisation, not just those with the title of manager or supervisor.

The Councils Leadership Series provides an opportunity for staff at all levels to come together to enhance their leadership skills and knowledge.  The Leadership Series will feature a range of virtual events that will see leading subject experts discussing current issues and provide opportunities to explore how this affects you in your leadership or management role.

    • 2022

In 2022, the leadership series will focus on psychological wellbeing.

The focus will be on helping those in a people management role to work effectively with staff who are experiencing mental ill health.

      • Summer 2021

The first set of events focussed on leadership through the pandemic and beyond, exploring the personal impact of the Covid-19 pandemic through an examination of the psychological and physiological effects of the global crisis.

Recordings of all the sessions are available in the Pandemic & Beyond section.

        • Autumn 2021

The second set of events focused on the uniqueness of women in leadership and the challenges faced gaining and sustaining leadership roles.  These sessions also facilitated the Pioneers Panel where our guest presenters took questions from our audiences.

Recordings of the launch together with the main themed events are available on the Women into Leadership page.
