As a new member of staff you should expect to have a thorough induction process. Your induction process will, incorporate the following activities:
Local induction (Team) – you should undertake a local induction with your manager and complete an induction checklist. The local induction should provide you with information regarding your role, the policies that we operate in as staff and an outline overview of your work tasks during your first few weeks with us.
Corporate Induction (Council) – you will attend a Corporate induction event which will provide you with an opportunity to meet with a range of colleagues from across the Council including trades unions, HR colleagues etc. You are able to book yourself onto the event or your manager may book a place on your behalf.
As a new or transitioning team leader/supervisor/manager who have a responsibility of people management, the Manager's Induction is mandatory and has to be completed by all.
Manager's Induction (Management) – you will need to complete the Shw mae ... Rheolwyr/Hello to ... Management programme, which provides you with an overview of the Council and its key priorities and explains the form and function of local government.
All Staff
As a new member of staff you will also be enrolled to undertake the following mandatory e-Learning modules:
- Safeguarding Children and Adults - Raising Awareness
- Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence
- Welsh Language Standards
- Introduction to Information Management
- ICT Security - Protecting Information
- Data Protection Awareness
- Corporate Induction and Introduction to Local Government (Wales)
At the discretion of your line manager, additional components may be added to your Induction in line with your job requirements.
