• Target Audience: LD Day Services Managers

Course aim – Tom Kitwood was the acknowledged British authority in respect of providing wellbeing for people with dementia.  He was instrumental in forming the Bradford Dementia Group, one of the UK’s leading university departments devoted to the development of best practice in dementia care.  This session seeks to explore some of the ideas he proposed in his seminal book ‘Dementia Reconsidered’.  This is one of the key texts recommended in SCW’s strategic Welsh learning and development framework ‘Good Work’.  Kitwood’s ideas are pertinent for anyone with an interest in the wellbeing agenda and they are not restricted to the study of dementia care.
