    Day 1

    Aim: To explore best practice in supervising child protection cases.

    Objectives:

    1. To explore why we need Super Vision in Child Protection Work

    2. To explore what we should be doing in supervision – based on Child Abuse Enquiries.

    3. To identify the type of supervisor participants have become and whether that helps or hinders the process.

    4. To identify the responsibilities of both supervisor and supervisee in Child Protection Supervision.

    5. To emphasise the need to focus on formal risk analysis in Supervision.

    6. To explore the type of questions we should be asking in supervision.     


    Day 2 

    Aim: To further explore best practice when supervising child protection cases.

    Objectives:

    1. To feedback on the homework task!

    2. To identify the impact of fear on workers

    A) dealing with hostile and unco-operative carers.

    B) In their current day to day work

    3. To identify questions we should ask in supervision to acknowledge the impact of fear on our practice. 

    4. To acknowledge the stress of child protection work and look at a supervision model that may help.  .
