Level 3 Health and Social Care: Practice (Adults)

This is the current qualification for those working in regulated health and social care settings, supporting adults in a supervisory role. This qualification develops the ability of learners to practically support health and care needs of adults in a range of settings. The qualification will assess learners’ knowledge and practice through their work. Learners can use this qualification as the first step in learning leadership skills.

This qualification will enable learners to develop and demonstrate their knowledge, understanding, behaviours, skills and practice within a health and social care setting. In particular, learners will be able to demonstrate that they:

  • understand, and apply in practice, the principles and values which underpin health and social care
  • understand, and apply in practice, person-centred approaches
  • promote and support effective practice within Health and Social Care
  • are aware of key policies within the sector and understand how these affect service development and delivery
  • work in partnership with individuals, their families, carers and a range of professionals
  • apply a range of problem-solving techniques
  • reflect on practice to continuously improve
  • use literacy, numeracy and digital competency skills as appropriate within their role
