      Heaven's XI Take the Trophy

At its earlier slot of 17th June 2015, Rhondda Fach Leisure Centre once again played host to the annual RCT Men’s Health Week 5 A-Side football tournament.

In a hard fought tournament, with each game lasting 15 minutes, the final came down to Buddha's Babes and Heaven's XI.

From a shaky start to their 2015 tournament, Heaven's XI appeared to get stronger and more confident as they progressed through the preliminary rounds to reach the final, securing their place with some impressive goal scoring.  From the start of the final, they looked in command and took the lead early on which they built on.  Buddha's Babes, tired from some intense games earlier in the tournament, found themselves defending for much of the game, but they clung on well, managing to claw their way back.

In the end tough, Heaven's XI never looked like losing the match and maintained their lead to the final whistle, the game ending in a score of 4:3.

      Bowling for Bowels Tournament Roundup

Wednesday 21st May saw our brand new bowling tournament take place with 9 teams competing. The event was held in conjunction with bowel cancer awareness and took place at the Taf-Ely Indoor Bowling Centre, in Pontypridd. In a light-hearted atmosphere, there was tough competition with a varied range of capabilities with some County representatives and many newbies. As with all tournaments, there can only be one winner…. and they were True GrI.T. representing ICT, based in Tŷ Elai, with the runners up Boaler’s Bowlers from the Health & Safety team, also based in Tŷ Elai. A BIG SHOUT OUT goes to our hosts for the evening Colin and Dave at the Centre for providing top class services and organising the fixtures for the night, which went without a hitch. Due to the success of the evening, we are looking to hold regular tournaments throughout the year, so watch this space!
