An Introduction to: NVR – Non Violent Resistance
This is an ideal course for case-holding social workers and practitioners who are working with families experiencing child-parent violence or conflictual relationships.
• This is a one day introduction and overview of the NVR therapeutic parenting unilateral action approach to Child-Parent violence.
• This one day may not be sufficient to deliver NVR to parents experiencing child-parent violence, but will aid your understanding and explain the sometimes counter-intuitive approaches we ask of parents.
• NVR is widely used, and evidence-based approach to managing violent and risk taking behaviours in young people.
• Following this course, you will understand the basis of the NVR approach and better understand the reasoning behind its methods.
