Aims & Objectives
By the end of the course participants will:
• understand s37/41 Mental Health Act and references in the MHA Code of Practice to restricted patients
• have a detailed knowledge of the Mental Health Casework Section and related guidance which is essential to undertake the role of Social Supervisor
• understand the practical processes involved in the discharge, Mental Health Tribunal review and the recall of conditionally discharged patients
• be able to set out how they approach the social supervision task and demonstrate suitable professional curiosity
• have considered academic research about the perspective of those subject to supervision and recall
• have considered the implications of inquiries, particularly regarding MDT roles, interagency communication, carer engagement, collaborative care planning and risk management .
