• LD Day Service Managers – Complete the pre-course questionnaire with other colleagues before we meet.

By the end of the session, managers will have:

    •  Learn about the strategic Measuring Outcomes Matters tool described in the book ‘Achieving real outcomes in dementia care’
    • Appreciate that David Sheard uses a 12 piece jigsaw tool to plan culture change.  Each jigsaw piece is incremental.  It builds on the previous step.

    • Understand that the first 6 pieces are ‘quality of service measures’. These are developed first.  They are the structural apparatus that must be in place to facilitate change.  Change will not flourish without these building blocks.
    • Understand that the last six pieces are ‘quality of life measures’.  These are developed last.
    • Discussed David Sheard’s 8 culture change projects that managers lead to bring about change Appreciate that tools described can be transferred to other settings
    • Create plans for further action
