• Target Audience: Managers and senior staff working in RCT Learning Disability Day Services

    Course aim – The SSWBA 2014 makes new expectations about quality of life for people using services.  This course will build on previous learning undertaken about wellbeing and will introduce participants to tools and resources that will assist with managerial quality assurance in this area.  This course seeks to support managers with getting theory into practice by measuring quality of life and setting targets for team development.

    Course Objectives - Participants will have had an opportunity to look at: 

    1.    The work of David Sheard and the butterfly philosophy

    2.    Shifting organisational focus from training staff to quality assuring outcomes

    3.    Using the Quality of Interactions Schedule (QUIS) methodology

    4.    Agreeing what good care looks like

     5.    Agreeing what poor care looks like

    6.    Sensitive conversations with staff about observed practice

    7.    Making action plans to embed the tools into our own areas of responsibility by committing to undertake some observations
