    Aims and Objectives

    By the end of the course delegates will:

    • Have an overview of legislation, research and context for working with siblings 
    • Have considered the significance of sibling relationships 
    • Have identified some key areas in assessing sibling relationships 
    • Have considered the issues relating to contact for siblings separated through fostering or adoption 
    • Have considered the skills, capacities and support needs of carers /parents of siblings in alternative family settings.
    • Have an understanding of the application of systemic approaches in assessment and decision making in sibling placement
