Aims and Objectives
By the end of the course delegates will:
- Have an overview of legislation, research and context for working with siblings
- Have considered the significance of sibling relationships
- Have identified some key areas in assessing sibling relationships
- Have considered the issues relating to contact for siblings separated through fostering or adoption
- Have considered the skills, capacities and support needs of carers /parents of siblings in alternative family settings.
- Have an understanding of the application of systemic approaches in assessment and decision making in sibling placement
