Aims & Objectives
This course is accessible to all Cwm Taf LA Staff
Objectives:
To provide course participants with a basic understanding of medicines and the safety involved in the administration of medication to clients
By the end of the session students will have:
•Discussed what medicines are
•Familiarised themselves with the safe handling, checking,
administration and storage of medicines
•Recognised what practices are unlawful and constitute
abuse
•Explored the effects of medicines on the body and
potential side effects and contra-indications
•Discussed clients who self-medicate and how to assist in
this procedure
•Completed a written
assessment paper
